To ensure your metal panels arrive and remain in excellent condition, please follow these handling and storage recommendations before installation.

Handling

• Always carry panels by supporting them along their length. Do not drag or slide panels across one another, as this can damage the painted finish and cause scratches.
• Lift panels from the underside rather than gripping the finished edges. Carrying panels by the edges can leave visible hand marks or distort the panel profile.
• Handle panels with clean, dry gloves whenever possible to minimize fingerprints and surface contamination.
• Avoid dropping, striking, or bending panels, as this may damage both the finish and the panel profile.
• Protect panels from contact with concrete, masonry, dirt, metal shavings, or other abrasive materials.

Storage

• Store panels indoors whenever possible in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area.
• If outdoor storage is unavoidable, keep bundles completely covered with a waterproof tarp while allowing ventilation at the sides to prevent condensation.
• Store bundles on a slight incline so any moisture can drain away rather than collecting between panels.
• Never allow rainwater, snow, or condensation to enter or remain between stacked panels. Trapped moisture can cause staining, premature corrosion, or damage to the painted finish.
• Keep panels elevated off the ground using timber supports or pallets. Do not store bundles directly on soil, gravel, or concrete.
• If panels become wet, separate each sheet immediately, wipe them dry, and allow them to air dry completely before restacking.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, chemicals, fertilizers, salt, or other corrosive substances before installation.

Before Installation

• Inspect all panels upon delivery and report any shipping damage before installation.
• Remove protective packaging only when the panels are ready to be installed.
• During installation, periodically remove metal shavings (swarf) created by cutting or drilling, as they can rust and permanently stain the panel surface.
• Use only tools and fasteners recommended for painted steel roofing and siding products.
